Carrefour Italia, the Italian unit of French retail giant Carrefour, has acquired 21 retail outlets from local Italian retailer Dugan.
According to local reports, the outlets are located in the northern region of Lombardy in Milan, Brescia, Lodi and Varese, strengthening Carrefour’s presence in the area, where there are already 244 Carrefour Italia outlets.
All of the 21 stores, six of which are supermarkets, will be converted to the GS and DiperDi brands.
The combined turnover of the stores in 2005 was EUR57m (us$69.2m).
