Coop Italia has booked an increase in full-year sales and appointed a president to replace outgoing Vincenzo Tassinari.

The Italian retailer recorded a slight sales increase of 0.1% to EUR13bn (US$16.7bn) in the year ended 31 December. The group attributed the increase to growth in its private-label sales, which increased 12.6%.

Coop Italia, which said it increased its market share by 0.1 percentage points to 18.5% in the year, confirmed the appointment of vice president Marco Pedroni as president at its AGM.
