Japanese retailer Aeon has recorded an increase in earnings for the first quarter of its financial year.
In the three months to the end of May, net profit amounted to JPY13.17bn (US$131.5m), a 0.8% increase on the prior year period. Operating profit climbed 9.8% to JPY34.72bn.
Sales in the period reached JPY1.46tr, 9.9% improvement on the comparable period last year.
