The Japanese Government has partially lifted the ban on the importation of French poultry products.
Following the detection of bird flu in the Ain department, Japan halted the import of all French poultry and foie gras.
According to a report in French newspaper Les Echos, Japan has now relaxed restrictions and will permit the import of poultry and poultry produce slaughtered before 1 February 2006.
