Japanese snacks group Calbee saw its earnings soar in the first half of the year, boosted by sales growth in all its divisions.
Earnings climbed 55% to JPY3.21bn (US$33.2m) in the six months to the end of June. The figure included a JPY374m gain on sales of investment securities.
Operating profit was up 20.7% to JPY4.57bn, while sales increased 9.8% to reach JPY47.55bn.
Sales in the firm’s snack foods division were up 10.6% to JPY40.73bn, while in Calbee’s other businesses, sales increased 18.9% to JPY791m.
