The Japanese drinks maker Kirin Beverage Corporation plans to expand its line of hot beverages by the end of this year.

From late September to early October, the company will begin marketing a new green tea made with high-grade leaves, and a tea with whole rice that has double the rice volume of earlier products.

There are also plans to expand its range of black teas and launch a female orientated coffee to its Fire brand.

The company expects sales of hot drinks in PET bottles to grow to 8 million 24-bottle cases this year, 2.7 times the number sold the previous year.
