Japanese convenience store chain Lawson has reportedly agreed to form a business and capital alliance with discount shop operator Ninety-nine Plus.
According to Dow Jones Newswire, Lawson will buy a 20% stake in Ninety-nine Plus through the purchase of new shares.
The two companies said they would eventually consolidate Lawson’s Lawson Store 100 and Ninety-nine Plus’ Shop 99 into a single chain, Dow Jones reported.
