With a 10% hike in milk prices expected this spring in Japan, Meiji Dairies Corp has indicated that it will raise prices and cut production in order to shore up margins.
Meiji said it will hike the price of 26 items, including yogurt products and milk-based drinks, by as much as 11.1%.
The company will also cut pack sizes – for example, Meiji Bulgaria Yogurt Plain will be cut in volume to 450 grams, while its suggested retail price will come down from JPY260 to JPY250.
