Bars that serve up food in cans that are then opened and devoured on the spot are proving popular in the Osaka area in Japan.
One such bar in the Dotonburi district of Osaka named Kanso has a shop front shaped like a tin and boasts snacks such as tinned bear meat curry.
Other selections on the tinned goods only menu include pork and beans, sardines and other convenience food standbys.
Another bar, named Kanzumeya, literally The Tinned Food shop, sells its preserved drinks accompaniments for a modest ¥200 (US$1.86) each. The owners say their customers enjoy a bargain and they are happy to provide one – in a tin.
