The Japanese seafood processor Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd has announced plans to merge three frozen food production and sales units in the US by 2007, according to local reports.
The three companies concerned are Gorton’s Inc; King & Prince Seafood Corp, a subsidiary of Gorton’s; and Fishking Processors Inc.
In addition to its activities in the US, Nippon Suisan Kaisha, which generates annual net sales of around JPY511bn (US$4.2bn), also has overseas operations in South America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
