Officials at Safeway, C-Town, Plaza and other large chains that spearheaded the boycott of Danish goods following the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammad in a Danish newspaper, told the Jordan Times that they resumed the sale of Danish goods a few weeks ago.

One Safeway worker, who requested to remain unnamed, told the paper that sales have “slowly gained the popularity they enjoyed prior to the boycott.”

Likewise, the report said, sales of Danish products at independent retailers have grown after they were returned to the shelves.

However, according to Danish dairy group Arla, sales in Jordan have not returned to pre-boycott levels. The latest figures released by the company suggest that it has only regained between 30% and 50% of pre-boycott sales.
