Kellogg and McCain Foods are reportedly on a list of firms that have seen some of their products rejected for approval by India's food safety watchdog.
According to local news publication India Info, minister of state for health Shripad Naik said the products were rejected due to lack of supporting documents for safety assessment.

Two Kellogg products, including Kellogg's Special K Red Berries and Kellogg's Special K Oats and Honey, are said to have been rejected. Kellogg's India arm did not respond to request for comment when approached by just-food.
A spokesperson for McCain confirmed it has "ceased importing" its Battered Pepper and Cheese Bites product to India pending approval.
"We wish to confirm that Battered Pepper and Cheese Bites are safe for consumers. They are sold across many countries worldwide and meet the health and safety parameters in each country. They are manufactured in the US and meet the highly stringent US FDA standards," the spokesperson said.
"We are providing the Indian regulator with the required data and we are confident that the product will be approved as the issues are of a technical regulatory nature and can be addressed by providing further information."
