
Kerry Group has added a meat snacks brand – Meateors – to its portfolio of consumer-facing products in the UK.
Meateors are "bite-sized" pork meat balls aimed at male consumers aged 20 to 32. Kerry has initially launched a BBQ flavoured product, with more to follow. The meat balls have a recommended price of GBP1.49 (US$2.22).
The company has also added two lines to its Mattessons range in the UK. Kerry is rolling out Mattessons Strip Sticks chicken skewers and FireDogs ambient hot dogs, which will initially go on sale in multiple retailers only.
The skewers will be available in a "classic roast" flavour in a single 50g portion and as a multipack of two 30g portions. The single line has a recommended price of GBP1.49; the multipack a recommended price of GBP1.69.
Kerry is two the hot dogs in two flavours – BBQ and chilli. They have a recommended price of GBP2.89.
The group's consumer-facing business is focused on the UK and Irish markets and accounted for 26% of annual sales in 2014. Revenue from the unit dipped 0.7% last year and Kerry said it was continuing to look to "capitalise on snacking, health and convenience trends".
