The government of Luxembourg has approved a €6m (US$7.03m) food safety programme called SECAL, which is aimed at developing production monitoring and risk prevention practices in the country.
SECAL is to monitor the chemical and microbiological content of food as well as the impact of that content on human health.
Relevant projects by scientific researchers and public research organisations will be taken into account, reported the Luxembourg News Digest.
