Tesco has confirmed that Sung-hwan Do has been named chief executive of its Malaysian unit.
Do had been COO of Tesco’s Homeplus unit in South Korea for three years. Before that role, he spent five years at Tesco’s then Korean venture Samsung Tesco after joining the business in 2003 from Samsung.
He will replace Tjeerd Jegen who announced his resignation last week, to join Australian retailer Woolworths Ltd and lead its supermarkets and petrol stations division.
