Mead Johnson Nutrition has appointed former Numico executive Michel Cup as its new CFO – and asked the man filling the role temporarily to become COO.

Cup worked at Dutch baby food business Numico from 1999, staying on when the company was bought by Danone in 2007 for a further year.

His most recent position was at tea and coffee company D.E. Master Blenders, where he was CFO from December 2011 to January 2015.

"His operational experience within our industry, background in financial control and auditing, as well as his familiarity with financial transactions will be important contributors to the future development of our company," Mead Johnson presidnet and CEO Kasper Jakobsen said. "Michel also brings a wealth of international experience to his role, having worked across Europe, the Americas and Asia."

The US-based infant formula business said Charles Urbain, who had been interim CFO since the spring, will become COO, leading its global commercial operations and external affairs.

The Enfamil maker last had a COO when Kasper Jakobsen held the role before taking the top job in 2013.
