Mead Johnson has expanded its research and production capabilities in Singapore with the opening of a new campus in Tuas.

The site includes a manufacturing plant that will supply products to Asian markets as well as a “technology and learning centre”, the latest addition to the global network of Mead Johnson Pediatric Nutrition Institutes. Around 180 new production and research personnel will be employed at the site.

Mead Johnson said the investment represents the “single largest capital project” in the company’s history.

James Cornelius, Mead Johnson chairman, said the move reflected “double-digit” demand growth for the company’s infant nutrition products in Asia over the past decade. “More importantly, the investment reflects the strong prospects for future growth and expansion in this region,” he added.
