Finnish meat firm Atria is to sell its cheese business in Sweden.

The disposal of the division, which generates annual sales of around EUR50m (US$63.7m), includes the production plant in Falköping and the Falbygdens brand.

“Negotiations are still in progress and the project is subject to approval by the Swedish Competition Authority,” the firm said in a statement.

It did not disclose details regarding reasons for the sale.

Earlier this year, Atria said it had been impacted by the Russia ban on certain food imports from the EY, as prices came under pressure.
