The Mexican branch of US retail giant Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart de Mexico, or Walmex, has named Eduardo Castro-Wright as the company’s new executive president and chief executive as of 1 January.

Walmex said it had planned to make Castro-Wright CEO when he joined the company as chief operating officer last year, reported Dow Jones International.
