Mondelez International is to launch Milka-branded brownies, which first hit the market in November, in more European countries this year.

The US snacks group launched the brownies in France and is lining up more markets for the products in 2017.

“Milka Brownies will be rolling out across a number of other European markets this year,” a spokesperson for Mondelez’s business in Europe told just-food. “In France, brownies are well established in the market and we feel that with the iconic brand Milka we can provide consumers with a new unique offer they will love. In other European markets, brownies are a trendy, growing segment, and we know these new soft treats made with tender Milka chocolate will be something that consumers will really enjoy.”

The spokesperson declined to disclose more specific details on where the Milka brownies could next go on sale.

Mondelez is scheduled to report the financial results for the fourth quarter of 2016 – and the year as a whole – tomorrow (7 February).
