Mondelez International has appointed Brian Gladden as CFO and executive vice president.

Gladden replaces David Brearton, who will now focus on the establishment and launch of the joint venture with DE Master Blenders to form Jacobs Douwe Egberts. In May, Mondelez announced it would separate its coffee operations into a new company in partnership with coffee maker DE Master Blenders. The deal sees Mondelez retain a 49% stake in the new entity.

Gladden was previously the CFO at Dell and will join the Cadbury owner on 1 December. He has also held positions at SABIC Innovative Plastics and GE Company’s Plastics business.

“Brian has a proven track record in financial and operating discipline, aggressive cost management to expand margins and fund growth, and building and leading a global business services operation,” said Mondelez International CEO Irene Rosenfeld. “This background, together with his extensive experience operating in emerging markets, creating shareholder value and developing talent, will greatly benefit our global organisation and our shareholders.”
