Natra, the Spain-based confectioner, has hired Dominique Luna Tuleda, an executive at European soft drins group Refresco, as its new CEO.

Luna replaces Juan Dionis Trenor, who resigned in January for personal reasons. He joins Natra after nine years at Refresco, where he spent eight years as director general of the company’s business in Iberia and one as business director for M&A.

Last week, Natra posted an annual loss of EUR12.2m (US$12.9m) for 2016 after booking an impairment charge of more than EUR5m and lapping a year of higher financial income.

Natra’s EBITDA increased 6.8% to EUR22.5m, which the company said was the result of a programme of efficiency savings and cost reductions.

Consolidated turnover for the year was down 0.8% at EUR365.9m.

Last September, Natra appointed Antonio Obieta as the new chairman of its board of directors.
