US honey supplier Natural American Foods is changing its name to Sweet Harvest Foods, the moniker of the peer it acquired in December.

Lance Chambers, the CEO of Natural American Foods, said today (3 April): “With this merger we are building upon a solid foundation to form one of the strongest professionally-managed companies in the industry and will continue to bring world-class products and services to our customers.”

Natural American was formerly known as Groeb Farms, which was acquired from bankruptcy protection in 2014 by private-equity firm Peak Rock Capital.

The company bought Minneapolis-based Sweet Harvest in late December. The deal saw Natural American add products including the MEL-O honey brand range and a line of peanut butter products under the PB Crave brand to its portfolio.

The new Sweet Harvest Foods markets a range of branded and own-label products. It also supplies foodservice outlets and produces honey and natural sweeteners for food manufacturers.
