Nestle has expanded the range of Häagen-Dazs ice cream on sale in the US with a new line under the sub-brand Trio.

The company said the new products combine “two unique flavours” of Häagen-Dazs and layers of Belgian chocolate. It has developed four lines – coffee vanilla chocolate, triple chocolate, vanilla blackberry chocolate and salted caramel chocolate.

The line is rolling out nationally and will be “widely available” by April. All of the varieties are sold in 14 oz. cartons at a suggested retail price of US$5.49.

“We’re always thinking about ways to innovate while remaining true to our core values, which include creating perfect flavours using the highest-quality ingredients. We have found more diverse flavour profiles and textures create a more indulgent experience,” Häagen-Dazs brand manager Kerry Hopkins said. “Trio takes a classic indulgence to the next level by offering layers of texture that are completely new to the ice cream category.”

Nestle licences the brand for use in the US from General Mills.
