Dutch retailer Ahold has confirmed plans to build a distribution centre in Almere, in the Netherlands.
The centre, a spokesperson for Ahold told just-food today (19 July), will serve its Albert Heijn banner’s online store Albert.nl.
“To serve more customers and to be able to offer our customers a wider choice in delivery times, we have extended our capacity,” the spokesperson said.
The centre is expected to open in early September. It will be the third distribution facility in the Netherlands for Albert.nl.
The spokesperson declined to disclose information on the investment in the new facility.
