Dutch retailer Schuitema, the operator of the C1000 supermarkets, has appointed Joost Sliepenbeek, finance chief of HEMA, as CFO with effect from 1 May.

Sliepenbeek, who takes over from Theo Janssen, has “extensive” experience in finance, the company said today (13 March) and previously held the position of financial director at HEMA, a Dutch department store chain.

Prior to this, he worked with Ahold for 13 years, with four of those as financial director of Albert Heijn.

The board said it respects Janssen’s decision and thanked him for his “dedication and outstanding contribution” to the new independence of Schuitema.

Janssen will remain as an advisor to the company until 1 June.
