NETHERLANDS: EU proposes partial lifting of Dutch milk, meat export ban
An export ban placed on Dutch meat and milk as a result of foot and mouth outbreaks in the country is to be partially lifted, according to the EU authorities. EU health commissioner David Byrne returned from a visit to the country yesterday, and explained that if no new cases of foot and mouth disease are uncovered by Monday, then meat and milk products from the south and west of the Netherlands can be resumed immediately.
