Dutch dairy giant FrieslandCampina has entered into a joint venture with French dairy processor Bongrain to sell branded cheese products in France.
The joint venture, which will take effect from 1 January, will have “limited scope”, FrieslandCampina said.
However, the Dutch firm said the venture will produce FrieslandCampina-branded cheese.
The company claimed it will contribute its “expertise” in hard and semi-hard cheese production, while Bongrain will offer its knowledge of the French market.
Earlier this month, FrieslandCampina announced plans to cut over 200 jobs across its business in Germany in a bid to “improve competitiveness”.
