A fire that broke out at FrieslandCampina’s cheese manufacturing facility in the Netherlands yesterday has still not been contained, the dairy giant has told just-food.
The facility in Gerkesklooster in the north of the country remains closed and production has stopped. No staff were injured in the incident.
“We don’t yet know the cause and this is still under investigation,” a spokesperson for FrieslandCampina told just-food.
Production of milk has been moved to another of FrieslandCampina’s facilities.
“We are investigating the possibilities of restarting production at the site as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson added.
