Dutch dairy group FrieslandCampina is bringing the majority of its research and development activities under one roof with the opening of a new innovation centre in Wageningen.
The centre, located on the campus of Wageningen University in central Netherlands, includes around 18,000sq m of laboratories, test areas and a pilot plant. Four hundred and fifty staff will be employed on site.
The company said the centre will allow it to respond “even more effectively” to growing global demand for “healthy, sustainably produced nutrition”.
“Cooperation, knowledge-sharing and mutual inspiration are key to this process,” the group added.
The centre will be opened by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands on 16 October.
