Dutch ingredients giant DSM Food Specialties has bought new production facilities for its Engevita dried inactive yeast at its headquarters in Delft, the Netherlands.

The new facilities are equipped with technological equipment, including a state-of-the-art air-treatment installation. The facility is designed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice standards in which HACCP principles are implemented.

“The new Engevita facilities are in line with the DSM strategy to focus increasingly on added-value speciality products in Life Sciences,” said Bob Hartmayer, business group director DSM Food Specialties.

Engevita dried inactive yeast is a natural speciality ingredient, providing a mild savoury taste and a range of nutritive factors. The product serves as a flavouring carrier nutritional ingredient and fermentation ingredient. Applications in food are vegetarian foods, health foods, processed meat, snacks, seasonings and pet food.
