Dutch meat processor Nutreco has said it is to cut 125 jobs at its Dutch poultry unit, Pingo Poultry.

Nutreco had previously announced that it planned to restructure its Dutch poultry activities after the devastating outbreak of avian influenza in the Netherlands earlier this year.

Nutreco said the total cost of the restructuring, including restructuring of its Belgian activities, is likely to total €14m (US$17.2m), reported Dow Jones International News.

The company said that Pingo Poultry’s operations would be further focussed on producing fresh poultry and poultry products for large supermarket chains in the Netherlands and Belgium.
