Sligro Food Group has posted a 2.3% increase in sales for the first nine months of the year, with revenue at its food retail division driving gains.
Total year-to-date sales rose to EUR1.64bn (US$2.45bn), up from EUR1.59bn last year. Organic sales growth in the first three quarters totalled 5.3%, the Netherlands-based food retailer and distributor said.
In food retail, like-for-like consumer sales growth in the first nine months was 6.8% at the company’s EMTÉ banner and 3.1% at the Golff format.
Organic sales growth in foodservice totalled 5%, the group added.
While Sligro emphasised that market conditions remain “difficult”, the group insisted that it remained “well placed” to “face the challenge”.
