Sligro Food Group posted an increase in total sales for the 2009 fiscal year today (6 January).

The Dutch retailer saw group turnover rise 4.2% to reach EUR2.26bn (US$3.24bn). In food retail, sales amounted to EUR727m, an increase of 0.4% on the previous year.
Foodservice sales rose 6% to reach EUR1.53bn.
The group’s organic sales growth in 2009 turned out at 5.1%, slightly lower than the 6.4% increase in 2008. Like-for-like growth in food retail consumer sales amounted to 6.3%, higher than the 4.1% increase in the prior year.
Sligro’s full-year figures for 2009 will be published on 28 January.
