Super de Boer, the Dutch retailer, said today (24 June) that it is “satisfied” with its progress after posting rising first-half sales.
The company, which has spent the last 18 months restructuring its business, posted a 4.2% rise in like-for-like sales for the first half of 2008.
Net sales reached EUR747m (US$1.2bn), compared to EUR763m a year earlier but Super de Boer CEO Jan Brouwer said the company was operating from more stores in 2007.
In recent months, Super de Boer has changed its name from Laurus and sold off its Edah and Konmar outlets to focus on its namesake stores.
The company has also consolidated its distribution network and cut head office jobs.
