Royal Wessanen has announced the appointment of Han Wagter as its chief financial officer. He will assume his new duties after the Annual General Meeting in April. He will also be proposed a board member at the meeting.

Wagter succeeds Doede Vierstra who is leaving the group to become CFO and board director at Dutch energy group Nuon.

Wagter has an extensive background and experience in the international financial arena, having held various positions at Stork, DAF Trucks and Kappa Packaging.

Royal Wessanen CEO Ad Veenhof said: “It is always sad to see someone leaving the team, but I would like to congratulate Doede on his new position and thank him for the contributions he made to the company.

“At the same time, however, I am happy we were able to find a highly qualified successor in Han Wagter to guide us further along the journey to implement our strategy. His experience within the international financial community, his solid financial background and his balanced personality are a true addition to the team we surely will benefit from.”
