Cadbury Nigeria, a unit of UK confectionery giant Cadbury Schweppes, has reportedly given out 300,000 free cocoa seedlings to local farmers.

Cadbury Nigeria’s chairman, Uduimo Itsueli, said the move was designed to encourage farmers to produce good quality cocoa beans, OsterDowJones reported, citing local media.

The company’s Stanmark Cocoa Processing Company, in Ondo, southwest Nigeria, has a processing capacity of 10,000 metric tons of cocoa.
