The European Union Council of Ministers has imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on ten Norwegian farmed salmon exporters who had previously been exempt from the tariffs by promising to keep prices above a minimum level.
Ministers agreed that the companies had either broken these promises or failed to supply information proving they had done so. Duties will henceforth be levied on EU imports from Nordic Group, Norexport, Nor-Fa Fish, Norfra Eksport, Kr Klieven & Co, Mesan Holding, Johan J. Helland, Sangoltgruppa, Oskar Einar Rydbeck and Northern Seafood, which handles Nordic Group salmon.
Countervailing duties are 3.8% and anti-dumping €0.32 (US$0.31) per net kilogram.
