Orkla has announced plans to wind up production at its flatbread manufacturing facility in Lierne in Norway.

The company said production will be moved to Orkla’s facility in Stranda. The transfer will take at least a year to complete.

By relocating production, Orkla said it hopes to take advantage of “greater opportunities for innovation and future growth”.

Atle Vidar Nagel-Johansen, chairman of the company’s Orkla Foods Norge unit, said: “Our decision has been made on the basis of sound, well-considered grounds. Moving production to Stranda is clearly the best alternative based on all the decision-making criteria.”
