US frozen foods manufacturer Pegasus Foods has announced plans to expand its production site in Texas.

The expansion of the Rockwall site will see US$10m in capital investment made to create a new 80,000 square foot facility. The move sees 325 new jobs created.

Pegasus produces branded and private-label frozen appetisers, entrees and bakery items including baklava for the retail and foodservice industries with customers including Cinnabon, Chili’s, Trader Joe’s and Walmart.

Construction is to begin “as soon as possible” a statement read.

“We are excited to grow our business in the Lone Star State where the political leaders understand the importance of creating a business-friendly environment,” Pegasus Foods principal Jim Zaferis added. “We will proudly become part of the community of Rockwall and manufacture safe food of great quality while employing and improving the quality of life for our newly hired fellow Texans.”
