PepsiCo has confirmed plans to cut its Chicago-based workforce as part of its ongoing moves to improve productivity.

A spokesperson for the company told just-food the job losses would be “minimal” but did not provide details on how many positions will be eliminated.

PepsiCo is working to improve efficiency across its US organisation, with productivity savings to be reinvested in growth.

“We are transforming how we operate through a more integrated structure across the PepsiCo businesses based in Chicago, which will fuel our success moving forward,” the spokesperson said. “We believe the actions we are taking are necessary for the long-term health of our businesses and position us for continued healthy, sustainable growth, and PepsiCo remains committed to having a strong presence in Chicago.”
