PepsiCo is making a "significant" investment to upgrade its Canadian production plant in Cambridge, Ontario.
The project aims to modernise the production plant and increase productivity. When contacted by just-food, PepsiCo did not comment on how much the company aims to raise production at the facility by.
The plant manufactures Frito-Lay products and employs more than 550 people.
The Ontario government revealed it is also providing C$3m (US$2.5m) in funds through the Rural Economic Development programme.
According to a statement from the Ontario authorities, the investment will increase efficiency and improve the plant's competitiveness, securing jobs at the facility. The investment is preparing the plant for the future installation of a high-speed packaging system, the Office of the Premier added.
