Pioneer Food Group, the South Africa-based food and drinks group, has appointed Felix Lombard as its new chief financial officer.
Lombard, who has been with the Sasko flour and Safari snacks maker for 22 years, takes on the CFO’s post from 1 July. He is currently the business executive for the company’s groceries division.
In addition to his duties as CFO, Lombard will also head up IT and M&A functions at the company.
Pioneer Food said it has now launched the recruitment process to find Lombard’s successor at groceries.
In April, Pioneer announced its talks with local agribusiness investment firm – and minority shareholder – Zeder Investments about an unspecified deal had broken off.
Earlier this month, the company warned its half-year earnings could fall by more than it previously estimated. In February, the company forecast its earnings per share – and the closely-watched headline earnings per share – would both fall by between 38% and 55%.
