UK-based snacks business Pladis has named GlaxoSmithKline executive Luigi La Corta its new CFO.
The company, the international snacks arm of Turkish group Yildiz Holding, said La Corta would join the business on 1 October.
He is to replace Mustafa Tercan. Pladis did not disclose the reasons for Tercan’s departure.
In a statement, Pladis CEO Cem Karakas said: “Luigi is a CFO with extensive global strategic exposure and finance experience gained in major blue-chip organisations. He has demonstrated his leadership of game changing global performance, across a wide range of areas and he’ll be integral to our long-term growth strategy.”
La Corta was most recently the senior vice president for finance at GSK and head of global business development for its pharma R&D organisation. Before joining GSK, La Corta spent eight years at AstraZeneca. His career also includes stints at Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo.
La Corta said he was “looking forward to joining one of the fastest-growing snacking companies”. He added: “Pladis is at an important stage of its global expansion.”
