Lotte Group has been granted permission to acquire Polish confectioner E.Wedel by the Polish competition commission.

The UOKiK decided on 17 August that the concentration would not significantly restrict competition in Poland.

Kraft Foods announced its plans to sell the unit to Lotte Group on 28 June. While the value of the deal was not disclosed, some 1,000 Cadbury Wedel employees will transfer to Lotte Group.
