UK consumer goods giant PZ Cussons has announced that Jonathan Myers is to become its new CEO.

The company, which owns food assets including Australian yogurt business Five: AM, said Myers, who moves across from Avon Products, will join the company on 1 May. He replaces Alex Kanellis who retired in January.

Caroline Silver will continue to serve as executive chair until Myers joins the business.

Myers is an experienced FMCG executive, having worked for a number of well-known businesses across a range of categories including personal care, homecare and food and nutrition.

He worked for US cereal giant Kellogg as managing director for the UK and Ireland from 2012, and vice president of European markets from 2014.

Commenting on the appointment, Silver said: “Jonathan is an excellent appointment for the company as our new CEO. His wealth of experience in our product categories and of doing business in both developed and developing markets will be invaluable.”
