US allergen-free granola bar producer Know Allergies has appointed Greg Rayburn as CEO with effect from 1 August.

Rayburn teamed up with Amos Bartlett, the founder of South Carolina-based Know Allergies, in 2016.

“Greg has been an outstanding partner over the past year and has been instrumental in getting the compass to this point,” said Bartlett. “I am looking forward to working more closely with him as our CEO as we continue to grow.”

Rayburn has significant senior management experience working with multiple companies during his 30 years career, latterly as chairman and CEO of US bakery group Hostess Brands when it was wound down in 2012. The  Twinkies manufacturer has since reborn as a listed company and is now owned by US private-equity firm The Gores Group.

In 2014 Rayburn partnered with Dr. Todd O’Gara, the founder of US bottled water business Flurowater, becoming its chairman and CEO. The company was rebranded as Wanu Water a year later.
