REPUBLIC OF IRELAND: Groups approach EC over illegal dumping of BSE-infected cows
Concern over the dumping of BSE-infected cattle carcasses have led the Irish National Trust , An Taisce, to send a report to the European Commission. An Taisce has said that it will pass the names of illegal dumpers on to the Irish department of the environment and it has set up a “Waste Hotline” for people to report illegal dumping.

In particular, the environmental group is concerned that carcasses are being dumped near to meat processing plants, reports of which it says it has received on the hotline.
