Carrefour intends to increase its presence in the Romanian market through the opening of new hypermarkets, the French retail giant told just-food today (19 November).
In the next month alone, the company intends to open two 8,000 square metre outlets and one 4,000 square metre outlet.
“Carrefour Romania is planning three openings of hypermarkets in November,” a spokesperson said.
However, the company remained silent on reports that it is eyeing turnover in excess of EUR1bn (US$1.3bn) in the Romanian market.
