Kraft Foods has signed an agreement to sell Cadbury’s Kandia-Excelent chocolate, soft cake and sugar confectionery business in Romania to Oryxa Capita for an undisclosed sum.
The sale includes Kandia-Excelent brands – Rom, Magura, Kandia, Laura, Sugus and Silvana and others, as well as related trademarks and the firm’s manufacturing facility in Bucharest.
Around 530 Cadbury Romania employees work for Kandia-Excelent.
Kandia-Excelent is one of a number of Polish and Romanian operations Kraft agreed to sell to win EU clearance for its GBP11.9bn (US$17.51bn) acquisition of Cadbury.
The sale is subject to approval by the European Commission.
Kraft sold Cadbury’s E. Wedel-branded confectionery operations in Poland to Lotte Group for an undisclosed sum last month.
